PAUL LEWERTHE LETTER Paul Lewer is a senior journalist and public relations practitioner with more than 30 years experience in these highly competitive industries.

He holds both the top prize in Australian journalism, the Walkley Award, and the top national Golden Target award from the Public Relations Institute of Australia for his work as Specialist Writer/Media Adviser on Australia Remembers 1945-1995.

This multi-million dollar bi-partisan campaign, held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, was one of the most successful national campaigns ever held in Australia and the Pacific region.

For many years Paul worked in senior editorial positions for the ABC including News Editor in Canberra.

As the ABC’s National Crime Reporter he broke several stories about organised crime in Australia, including the arrest of crime boss, Robert Trimbole, in Ireland, for which he received his Walkley Award.

Paul has held various senior public relations positions - with campaign responsibility - with key federal government organisations, and worked as speech writer for several federal ministers.

He was a commission as reporter-at-large for Environment Australia covering stories in New South Wales, the ACT and South Eastern Queensland and was commissioned by the Australian Institute of Sport to be co-author of a book about AIS indigenous scholarship holders.

BILL D'ARCY THE LETTER Bill D'Arcy  is a journalist, broadcaster, public relations practitioner and media administrator.

He is the News and Features Network's Production Manager and a member of our project management team.

Bill's highly developed news and feature sense, acute political judgement and strategic thinking are valuable tools in knowing when to seize the initiative and how.

His knowledge, skills and experience spans 40 years in newspapers, magazines, wire services, 'new' media, radio, television and national public and private sector pr campaigns.

Bill began his career in 1962 when he joined the Daily Mirror, Sydney.

He later served as a newspaper and wire service foreign correspondent based in New York, London and Hong Kong, and a radio, television and newspaper political correspondent in the NSW and Federal parliaments.

He was head of bureau and chief political correspondent for the Ten Network, Macquarie Radio, and the Sun newspaper and is the recipient of the commercial radio industry's commentator of the year award.

Bill was an on-air host at 3AW Melbourne and a member of the management group, a reporter and presenter during the station's multi-award winning coverage of the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires.

He was network radio news director (Consolidated Broadcasting Corporation - CBC, a Consolidated Press subsidiary) and capital city radio station general manager (CBC/3AK).

Bill has written (The Canberra Times, The Australian, The Age) and broadcast (Ten Network) on science and technology, and has a specific interest in the environment, and information, and information and communications technology.

Bill is the convener of the National Press Club's Information Management Forum, which was created to foster media interest in the information revolution, and is a lecturer on media and a consultant in the design of information management systems.

He was Canberra Correspondent for PC Week magazine, covering political, economic and social aspects of the IT industry, as well as the release of new software, hardware and peripherals.

His public relations experience ranges from fire hazard reduction to the forthcoming float of a new national transport company.

These projects embrace marketing objectives, concept development, creative direction, customised media releases, roadshows, forums, corporate communications, presentations and launches, and rebranding.
